The one thing stopping me from
ending it is my friend. She is also struggling with her mental health, and I am very sure that if I were to commit, she would as well. I hate feeling stuck because of this. I hate that I have to suffer through life just to keep her safe, and I am not sure if I can do this anymore.
Am I a selfish and horrible person if I still go through with it?

Everyone will have differing opinions on suicide. I believe that it is inherently selfish, but that does not mean it is wrong and it does not make you a bad person. Your friend is in control of their own actions just the same as you. If you have reason to keep going, to seek help, to find a way out then hold on to it and see if you can get better. Whatever happens, I hope you and your friend find peace

i'll probably be weird for this opinion but i don't think that should hold you back. like, if i was in your place, i wouldn't care because i'd be dead and it doesn't affect me, i wouldn't be able to know what happens next anyway. though, if the only other option was suicide, maybe you could do something you wouldn't normally do if you had a life ahead of you. you could like run away from whatever is causing these problems, even if it's not easy, there's not much to lose, cuz the only other option is death, idk this might actually just be a schizo rant

I also do think it's selfish, but at least it's comforting to hear someone say that it doesn't make me a bad person. And thank you

Yea, i know it won't affect me after im dead, yet the guilt is still eating at me now while im alive. And sadly the problems im having can't really be fixed by running away, since they'll follow me anywhere i go
