I tried to do the co method the right way. Waited 20 min for the coal to turn that glowing color, well, I didn't realize that it produced so much white smoke, I got police and fire called on me.

I am blessed enough that I live in gated community and I'm in back part of it on side by a fence, were I chuncked the chimney as far as I could onto the street where no cars or anything or at, and most of the smoke was gone by time they got to me.

My fire alarm did go off, but I was able to un plug it and I was stupid enough to forget the one inside, because I did this outside, not inside. But opened the door and alarm went off. Duh.

Can't believe no police or fire knocked on my door or anything, I lie my ass out of it anyway, or pretend I didn't know anything.

I understand why this needs a remote location. But dam, I'm going to have to drive like 60 miles to get remote, and use tent. But like where, I live in Texas (I won't say where), but somewhere like north of prosper, Oklahoma red river area. How would I pick a spot.

I don't want anyone else to get hurt besides me, and I want to try again. I watched so many YouTube videos how to use grill correctly, and I guess doing it the city will never work, even if it's just plain Barque as just to many people are around.

I don't think I'm smart enough to order s/n method and looks expensive. I was looking at the guides but I don't understand it at all.

I am sorry the fire alarm had to go off, but lucky you, they did not come to your place.
If you can drive to other location, I assume that you have a car?
Car is one of the most common option/location people use for CO method.

Aha, I see. Is there way to turn off the fire alarm? I usually unplug it and take out the battery, and it doesn't work.

Oh, even if you unplug it, it will still call them. Is that normal. At least it didn't set off sprinkler system

I unplug it from the wall and take out the battery that's in the fire detector. If the battery is still in, it will go off. Try it!

I'm sorry it failed. The CO Method needs proper planning. Any sorts of fire alarms in buildings and/or CO alarms are a no go if you wanna attempt with this method. As it was suggested in your other thread already, it's best to consider a tent. Fire- and CO alarms in buildings are there for a reason - and CO method can be very dangerous for other innocent people in buildings.

I hope that you eventually find what you search for and I'm sorry that you had to go through that, I really wish it's easier to permanently be free from this existence.

That's the good thing about spring/summer. Grilling is vey nomal and doesn't draw attention. I have a friend who cooks on her outdoor grill every day.

Thankful they did not come to my apartment and I live next to the gate/wall were there are no other cars parked. I also did have a pitcher of water by me just in case, and a heating glove and poured water on it, chucked it as far as I could.

I did notice that fire department and police drove by last night, but the chimney I threw was still on side of street, if it is there later this after noon, I will pick it up and throw it away.

I also have a flowerbed since I'm first floor balcony, and I covered up some of the charcoal with the dirt and swept the rest away.

I will have to work up my nerve again, before I do something like that. I live in north Texas, (that's all I say). I won't ever be able to do this method again here, and may have to drive to some remote place in Oklahoma, and look at the tent method. Even then, I'm not sure.

I was so close to. The coals were finally starting to glow, and I had to chunk it.

I'm planning to use this method in my car, and you tell me what type of charcoal you plan on using?

That methods sounds easy but executing it properly sounds difficult! It's so unfortunate we have to feel like this everyday and forced to take drastic measures just to end our suffering! I truly hope you find what you're looking for and get the results you want!
