Whenever replayed the feelings re-emerge,
the sinking, stomach stabbing sensation
as painful as the first.
The punishment for reading words
one shouldn't have come by

Regretting when fear became truth.
Ignorance would not be bliss
for fear would still remain,
but ignorance would be better
for truth hurts far greater
