man, i'm starting to change my mind about how difficult suicide is...
ive been looking up a ton of articles, even about very unusual methods, and a lot of them are successful
(that's obviously because if it was NOT successful, it wouldn't have turned into an article)

but i'm just saying... if you use the right keywords, go and search the most unusual method you can think of and then
sort by "news articles".
it will most likely show a bunch of successful attempts.

even recent ones, like from fucking last week.

the guy from the article put a plastic bag on his head and covered it with tape and then put handcuffs on himself.
it's likely that it was those plastic thingys i always forget the word for.

QUESTION: practically, how would he put the handcuffs on while not being able to see?

zip tie
sounds horrifying tbh
yes thats right, thanks.
it does sound horrifying, but i think it would be a very fast experience.
and some would say the good outweighs the bad.
i mean if it's relatively fast... i dont know how long... i would imagine a maximum of 1 min, and then you'd go unconscious.
hypothetically, i would go for that if i made all my problems in life disappear

I wonder if this is better than drowning. because at least you can continue to breathe. its just air with little oxygen.
exactly. i fear drowning more than this.
and when you really think about it... everyone knows that everyone needs oxygen.
we also know that taping a plastic bag to your head and sealing it with tape cuts off oxygen.
we know that if you zip tie your hands, you cannot take off the bag.
so there you go...

i'm not saying it's guaranteed.
there can always occur fails and errors.
but i also saw another article just a month ago with the exact same thing, where he was also successful,
so i'm naturally starting to see it as a method.

and the "funny" (so to speak) thing about that article a month ago is that the guy was sitting in a garden chair, looking all peaceful.
you would imagine he would have been struggling and fell on the ground.

i don't mean to "encourage" this method, i would hope that an expert would show up in this thread.
someone who knows how long it would take to go unconscious this way.

and i'm still curious how the fuck he tied his own hands

have you tried it with just the bag and no cuffs to see how it would feel?

no.
but i know of a famous bodybuilder called calum von moger, and he has many times publicly told the story about how his poor dog accidentally died by choking on a chips bag while the guy wasn't home.
obviously that was without tape and an accident... so that just puts things into perspective.
and when you buy stuff from IKEA or whatever, the bags always warn against kids playing with the plastic bags.
IKEA puts that warning on there for a reason.

I tried to do something simillar once, but I fumbled with the handcuffs and couldn't get them on before the SI kicked in. I panicked really bad, and ripped the bag open. That stuff was so much worse than hanging for me, so much scarier

how would you describe the feeling it in detail?
and how long do you estimate it would have took before you passed out? if SI didn't kick in for you

I can't tell how long it would be exactly, time feels slower when you are waiting for death. Bag over head did feel slower than FSH, in my first FSH attempt my vision was starting to go dark after a few seconds, but I had the bag on longer thn that with no signs of passing out as far as I could tell.
It was such an intense feeling of "impending doom", like being cornered by a rabid animal, that kind of "oh shit, I gotta get out of here!". I was hyperventilating a lot too.

damn. sorry you had to feel all that pain.
i was thinking, hypothetically one could prepare a noose with a good anchor point and everything.
then stand on the chair, put head thru the noose, meanwhile you have the bag on your head, taped shut.
and then hurry to kick the chair away.
as a double method.
i feel like it would increase the chances of success.

Thankfully despite the mental effects being really tough I don't recall the method being physically painful, or at least it wasn't for me, maybe it would start to hurt if I kept going.
I doubt you would pass out any quicker with the bag, but it might reduce the risk of failure in case something shifts and you get blood flow to the brain again? or if an anchor fails after you pass out. You have to account for the oxygen that is in the bag as you put it on though, there might still be enough left there for you to wake up? Especially since it likely won't be fully airtight.
This is entirely speculation on my part, I'm not an expert on this matter just sharing my thoughts.
