  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Hi. I have some disabilities that can make it difficult for me to understand things, so I need some clarification on some rules. I appreciate any clarification you can provide, and any patience you can extend me.

Do Not:

Encourage acts, ask for encouragement, or help anyone commit any acts.
Do not encourage, suggest, manipulate, coerce, or help users carry out acts of any nature whatsoever, including suicide; only provide factual information and emotional support to those who ask for it. Do not try to get the community to tell you what to do, only you can choose your path and actions.

Post low effort, spam, or ask to be PMd (i.e., sent a Private Message).
Don't spam or make low effort replies. Spam includes sending mass PMs, unsolicited PMs, and making posts asking for people to PM you.

Post or request personal information, website links, or sources of ANY kind.
Don't post personal information of anyone, no matter if the information is public or not, or if you have been given permission or not. This includes posting or requesting identifying information of providers, contacts, of yourself, of someone else, or website links to providers (e.g., amazon products, ebay stores, onions, upload sites, independent sellers, etc). If you wish to share information with someone, do so privately, but understand you take responsibility for the risks of doing so.

––––––––––

So from these, it sounds like I can't ask where to buy SN or any other resource for ctb, and I can't ask people to PM links to me for this DMC person or anywhere/anyone else. I don't understand what I'm supposed to do then? I have a firearm. I just wanted to take some SN first, and then after a few minutes use the firearm, that way I can make sure it works. Do I just have to figure it out myself? Am I misinterpreting the rules? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Rules could certainly use an overhaul, but to answer your question; you're allowed to ask to be sources. But they must be sent via dm and not posted in public.

Thank you for your help. I apologize, but is that a typo? Should I read it as "you're allowed to ask for sources"? Not trying to be shitty, legitimately unsure and want to make sure I properly understand.
i believe it is disabled for new users you have to post and interact more with the forum before it's unlocked
Oh. That is odd, since I feel like it would mitigate this very issue. I've never encountered a search function being restricted on a forum before. Thank you for letting me know.

quick way to deal with this issue is to head to a different part of this website and play some of the games there.

There are a few things you must not do.
(1) You must never tell someone to ctb, or tell them that you think it would be a good idea for them to ctb. It would not be ethical, and it's against the site rules. That decision must be 100% up to them. It would not be against the rules to ask "Should I ctb", but nobody is going to say "Yes", even if they think it would be your best option. They might say "No", and explain why they think you should not - and people often do that.
(2) You should never tell someone what method to use to ctb. Again, that decision must be 100% up to them. You can warn them that some particular method is not a good idea, and why. (For example, jumping off a 30 foot tall building is not a good idea, as you are quite likely just to injure yourself badly.) You can give them factual information on methods (e.g. if you decide to ctb using SN then if you don't take an anti-emetic with it you are likely to vomit it all up). You yourself can ask questions like: "Should I shoot myself or jump off a building instead" - it's not against the rules to ask things like that - but nobody will answer the question, so there really wouldn't be any point in asking it.
(3) The bit about "low effort" is really aimed at people who make trivial posts all the time and rarely make any genuine contribution. It's OK to post that kind of thing occasionally - I know I do, and I think most people who post regularly do - but don't make a habit of it.
(4) The bit about personal information says that you must not reveal infomation about other people. That's to protect their privacy. Some members could be in real danger if their identity became known. You can reveal as much as you want about yourself, though I would strongly advise you not to reveal anything that might allow other people to identify you.
(5) Remember that SaSu is not a market place. No buying and selling in publicly accessible threads.
(6) Although not a hard and fast rule, it is also a good idea to keep all your posts polite. Don't be deliberately offensive. Most people here are having a hard time. Remember that, try to be empathic, and don't make things any harder for them.
If you follow those six guidelines, you won't have any problems with the rules.
