Gather around for the worst story of your life. I was very high today and not on my A game. So I am on prep (prevents HIV), I was supposed to do it with someone else on prep who thought they were negative but sent me HIV positive results.

They literally didnt know they were hiv positive, the doctor didn't tell them why they were taking prep, and he also had a negative test result that would show that despite the insane scenario if he was undectable and we're both on prep it really didn't matter that much.

As I said not my a game but a long string of bad decisions I get home and take a look at the test again and realize that he literally can't fucking read. He told me he was under 20 (undectable can't transmit), but sent me a POSITIVE test, so I looked at it realized my assumption of how he maybe was around a 50 or something (undectable but would definitely show as positive on most tests) so from less than 20 to 50 or less. there was actually NO number. Just a RANGE of 20-100000. The negative test was a month ago, so currently positive with no number. His number was greater than 20. And apparently the doctor explained none of this.

I am fully aware of how I got here, while I do not consider myself a stupid person surely such severe and repeated lapses in judgment are a sign. I can't help but laugh at my laugh sometimes

I'm so sorry you are in this situation. An old friend of mine has also been placed in exactly this position. Their previous partner testing positive for HIV a month after they started becoming official. And my said friend forgetting to take their prep according.
From what I heard you have to wait around 6 weeks before getting another test to confirm if you have contracted it. I imagine the waiting time must be restless.
I'm sure you are aware nowadays there is very effective treatment for HIV that can leave it undetectable. But still the possible feelings of being diagnosed with it are difficult to process.
I with you peace and all the support necessary when going through this hardship.

It will be your tests that matter now.

He has his own issues. I am not buying his complete ignorance on this.
I am not buying his doctors indifference to explanation. Here...take these...
No.

Lay low for a while and get a lot of tests.

Today, the worst you should experience is taking meds forever. They have come a long way since 1985.

thank you, im aware medicine can make it mostly harmless, but i dont think i can live with it, and i dont think i can wait, i have my sn i think its getting about that time. truely its my fault, after losing a 5 year relationship and struggling to find anyone i can stomach to be around i took a shot in the dark at someone who clicked every box except reading comprehension apparently. theres nothing really left for me here
