I just finished re-writing my picture book and I think I will send it.

I wrote a post not long ago about having two picture book projects on the way. Well, one has completed illustrations but incomplete text. The other one has completed text but no illustrations. I was thinking about just sending the manuscript and getting an illustrator for this one. I haven't the energy anymore to do more drawings. And as some of you know I have some really horrible neighbours. I think I will just send the damn book and kill myself if it doesn't get published. And if it does get published I will still kill myself. It's a win-win

Thank You, FC. I really don't have much energy tbh. I just struggled at them during a few hours at night while doped up on meds haha. I wanted to illustrate both books myself but (if it is accepted) I'll just work alongside an illustrator. I'm sure they would find somebody much better than I am for the drawings for my second book anyway. Whatever happens, though, I will still ctb. That won't change.

What are your pictures about? You have stated that in earlier posts, but I don't know where to look

It's amazing you still have creative energy to work on these projects. Where do you get your inspirations? How do you visualize the text - which I am always amazed at working with illustrators.

I have had some experience with children's publishing. It's stories that are the gold dust. In my experience, publishers actually prefer to pair a story to an Illustrator themselves- rather than expect you to provide the finished article. Some Authors and Illustrators never even meet. Not to say that's the case everywhere- that's just my own experience. I wish you the very best of luck with it.

Wait-Bus and makethepainstop, I would love to share these stories and ideas, but I have to try and protect my anonymity on here (maybe at some point I will). I don't even know if the works are publishable or not. I guess I will find out soon enough. Cheers guys!

Maybe somebody here would be able to illustrate for you. It's actually in my skillset. I'd love to see your work either way. If only to share a familiar moment with someone in a similar predicament. No pressure though. I find it hard to share anything personal or potentially identifiable here so I'll understand if you prefer not to too but you're more than welcome to PM me. ☺
