I have hoped the USA would legalize euthanasia for the mentally ill also, but I think that is very far off. Switzerland is one of the places that have it currently.

It is extremely difficult and pricey with no gaurantee even for switzerland. Its criminal how difficult it is. I cannot understand why our human right is trampled on like this. Society is MAD!

YEs even if you have a DNR in the USA at leas tin my state they do not honor it in a suicide attempt...

I hope so, too! In case I cannot get up the courage to attempt. Perhaps thinks will be easier with assisted suicide by then. Perhaps it will be available not just for the terminally ill by then.

I think that every adult of sound mind should be able to choose a dignified death at a time of their choosing, if they show that this choice is sustained over time.

I do think the outlook will become better and better, as look at the progress already made in Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the U.S.

Maybe. It said from mid this year, so they must have been only going a very short amount of time if so. Could be more fun taking a trip to Mexico, more availability and attempt to go out after having a bit of fun.

Let's not forget all this extreme anti suicide nonsense that spread everywhere seriously started thanks to Christianity. Many past cultures were extremely pro choice, even more so today like in Rome when Roman nobility would occasionally commit suicide on stages in front of large crowds.as Christianity slowly changes and fades in 1st world countries they should get more and more pro choice probably. (While rejecting Christianity does not mean you reject all the values particularly that life belongs to God etc, this value should fade as time goes on. Even when people reject Christianity they often hold onto this value for a long time)

I'm really sorry. When my experience of psychosis got into full swing in early 2017, I had sensations in my body of being raped and tortured. It was terrible. Mental illness is no joke.

I don't understand the popular sentiment (that nearly everyone holds, it seems) that life should be held onto at all costs. We would rather keep people alive through artificial feeding and ventilator machines (pure existence, not 'life') than let them die. It's the strangest thing to me. Life can be good, in parts (not really to me anymore, but it has been in the past, so I know it can be), but overall it's not that great. I would think this is true for most people. We're just here.

I think there will always be a supplier for it around. Exit hasn't had much of a problem finding suppliers in the past, not to mention their entire brand is centred around Nembutal.

My biggest problem is that Organizations like dignitas are really expensive. I mean it is more than about 20 000 CHF. It is nearly impossible for me to pay this much money. But in Germany it seems like you are able to get nebmutal is you are very sick.

Germany has euthenesia? Yea its sickening it costs so much to die. Just expect poor people to suffer. Fking disgusting. I detest this cruel herd mentality of society.
