I have such a perfectionist mindset that if things don't go my own way I can't do it

That's got to be awful but then- how do you know it won't work out until you try? I can understand it must put you off starting things but- if that means you end up doing nothing, isn't that also horrible? Isn't there a part of you that then wonders if you might have been good at it?
