Help I hate my life

I hate my life, I don't know what to do to feel better. I'm depressed. I hated my job so I asked for a month's medical leave. I can't forget one person. I don't talk to my mother and I don't have a very good relationship with my father. I feel like I'm on my own. I had two interviews this week but didn't go because I couldn't get out of bed. Sometimes I would really like to just disappear but I feel I can't leave my cat. She is the only good thing in my life right now. She is about to turn 15 and has been with me since she was born, she is my best friend. Sometimes I feel a little better and get out of bed, but then I take refuge in alcohol. I have also dated other guys to try to get over the other person but I can't. And I have very little self-love and "selling myself short". The only family member who supported me 100% was my grandmother, and she has had dementia for some time now due to her age and often doesn't know who I am when I call her (I live far away from the family). So yeah I'm feeling very lonely. Not knowing where and to whom to turn.

Thank you so much and I hope so too :) I had already found this site and spent my mornings and early mornings (worst times of the day for me) reading your forums because it reassured me in a way to see that I am not the only one feeling this way and I found there were many understanding and sweet people so I decided to create an account today. And yes, I really love animals. Life would be much worse without them. I'm glad you liked my username :)

Yeah that's totally valid, I do the same thing haha. It really helps to know there's other people who have gone through similar things and understand.

I feel you. Most days I don't feel like talking to anyone at all. It really depends on the day and the mood. It's a roller coaster.

The fur babies are our best friends. They really do make you feel better. That's why they have pet therapy in hospitals, furry visitors for people who are very poorly. So sorry you are suffering. There are lots of good people on this forum who are going through. similar things so you are not on your own. There is always someone here for you. Hugs.

Actually my cat sleeps with me every day xD if I don't let her she cries ahah. A very spoiled cat. Yes, as I always say, people usually suck. Btw, I like you username too and I love the beach and the ocean :)

Awwh I love that, my cat does as well when I am home. He's really become a snuggle bug in his old age. Being around animals and nature is truly so much more peaceful then dealing with most people

14 now, have had him since he was a kitten as well. His "cat-anality" has changed so much, he used to hate other people and hate cuddles or hugs. Still hates being picked up though haha

Ohhh he is a senior too :) Ahaha that's funny, mine it's still the same. Always want my lap and company. And plays a lot by herself. Sometimes she runs around the house like a crazy "person" . One question, do you feel that your cat understands when you are down and sad? I think my cat is also getting a little depressed about me walking like this and is always around me (more than usual). Poor thing.

Senior cats most definitely still get the zoomies. At 3am of course ! I do think he senses it, he also senses when I am packing to go somewhere and gets sad and distant from people. I don't think he's gotten generally sadder though

I am sorry that you are suffering. I also hate existing and I know that it can be awful to live a depressing life. I also like animals, they are one of the only positive things about this life. I wish you the best in whatever happens.

I love animals too I wish I had an animal. I am taking care of a friend's cat and will feel really sad when he comes to pick her up. Cats are truly very sweet animals.

I love animals too I wish I had an animal. I am taking care of a friend's cat and will feel really sad when he comes to pick her up. Cats are truly very sweet animals.

Wow 16 years for a dog is a lot. I often say that my cat was my euromillions (I live in Europe). I wish they would live forever. I also think that when my cat is gone I will have no more reason to stay here in this world and that I will go after her. I hope that you may enjoy your dog's company a little longer.
