I hate dating apps

Whenever im deep in this pit of loneliness, i always end up slipping up and download a dating app. And man do I hate the concept so much, it feels like im selling myself like a product just to get a crumb of attention and be able to have a conversation with someone.
The whole concept is so silly , idc what people look like , idc what they are called, idc if they own a fucking ferari,i dont give a fuck if they r successful.
I just wish there was an app for neurodivergent people mannn. I just want to find like minded people , while having the opportunity to meet them irl.
Thats the point of these apps , to find people irl. And yet they make it so complicated.
I just rly hate how everything is catered for neurotypical people

Oh man, too relatable. I remember trying Facebook dating on and off for a while when I was feeling really lonely and it just made everything 10x worse... basically ZERO matches and on the rare occasion I did get one they would just ignore or unmatch. I know I'm not exactly a looker, but jesus fucking christ those sites are so insanely uglyphobic it's not even funny. At this point, I'm done with dating. I've tried it and shit just wasn't for me, I gotta try and find happiness/satisfaction elsewhere or just shut up and CTB.

And yeah, it sucks that everything in life is aimed towards normies, but can you imagine how godawful an autistic-only dating app would be? One of two possibilities: It either gets overrun with thousands of self-diagnosed neurotypicals OR it stays at a 80-20 gender imbalance ratio.

Omg, exactly this.

It's so difficult to be authentic when you feel like you have to curate your persona.

I know a lot of men struggle with the dating pool on sites, and it seems just as bad if you're an average or below-average looking lesbian.

Women are incredibly selective even with other women, and one benign question or attempt at a joke could be enough for them to ghost you.

also, I think the only people that do well in these apps are those that know how to make themselves look more important than they actually are. Sort of an ego check

It's scare everyone there away, or find my perfect mate I feel with that.
With only 5 mins I'd go straight into deep dives on idk, suicide, society, certain art or whatever. No point wasting time with "what do you do" questions, but then again I never do that so. I generally don't care about race, gender, nationality, age, occupation, name when I talk to people, but more about what makes them, them. What do they like to do, how do they think about and perceive the world etc.
