i came back to ss because i wanted to start planning to ctb again. everything felt so shitty and i was so lost and struggling and constantly in pain from my bpd. but today i got a call back saying ive got the job i interviewed for last week and convinced myself i had flunked. its nothing fancy and nothing like my dream job i was forced to give up in 2020 but its so much better than my current one and im genuinely proud of myself. im just praying this new hope im feeling sticks around

Congratulations! šŸŽŠ

That feeling of hope is priceless.

I can relate to your comments about having to leave a previous dream job. I hope this new position works out well for you.

Congratulations on getting it, try to face it and go for it in the most positive way possible. Perhaps you can still recover and be saved.

Good luck on the new job.

If you don't mind explaining...what happened?
everything started getting bad again and i cant regulate my emotions well enough to be able to work now. it was all just too much for me. i was bad at the job too and struggle to take criticism without spiralling thoughts and it began to have such a negative impact on me that i nearly ctb'd

I'm sorry to hear that and I wish you all the best. Sometimes life sucks. Are you taking any medication? Criticism can be tough to handle at times. I had a past boss at work that was harsh with his criticism and I didn't always handle it well. Now I don't really care what other people think of me but I still listen when there is criticism as I don't want to get fired.

im probably going to be going back on anti depressants just in case it takes the edge off. ive been medication free for around 8 months because the ones they were offering didnt work for me, ive suggested trying mood stabilisers but my psych says they either arent licensed to prescribe them, or that they are against prescribing them (i can't remember which)

I hope the anti-depressants work for you. I'm not sure why they won't give you a mood stabilizer. I don't know where you live but perhaps you could see a different doctor if you really want the mood stabilizer.

Hey even though you quit you still did really good getting it in the first place and putting up with it for as long as you could.
