  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

After being broke and unemployed for the past month, I just had a successful interview at Goodwill and they want me to be an assistant manager there. The manager told me that things at the store are a mess right now and that's why she needs me, so it sounds like the job will probably suck. But hey, it's something. And that's better than getting evicted from my apartment and living in my car. So it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders, and I'm gonna get a pizza tonight to celebrate.

I know it's probably pretty lame to come to an internet forum to share this, but I don't really have any friends to celebrate with. So I just wanted to share it here, cause it's one big step towards recovery 🥳

Congratulations!! I was unemployed for 8 months until very recently and it was so awful, every little problem feels 10 times worse when you know you don't have a steady income coming in. I used to work retail and it was a mess but having that set routine really helped me to maintain stability.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Assistant manager is a great steppingstone on a resume. I am older and have hired folks for almost 50 years and assistant manager is great AND if things have to be corrected BOTH will look great on a resume. Not only the position, BUT also what you will do to have the place functioning correctly, a HUGE plus, as it will show YOU off and what you can accomplish.

I love reading these types of super positive threads, just makes my day so darn much better, thank you so much for sharing.

Again, CONGRATS! and I am so super happy for you, just so wonderful!!!!

No bro, ,this is actually good. See it as an opportunity to fix things for good and get promotions! That's awesome.

I've been trying for a while now as well to get a job (while in chronic pain) to no luck.

The longest I've been unemployed was about year, and I absolutely agree. You would think that it would be awesome cause you get to watch movies or play video games all day or whatever your hobby is. But most of the time you can't even enjoy your hobbies because A. You can't afford them, and B. You feel so miserable and down on yourself that it's hard to enjoy them. You feel like you're just wasting time and what little money you have left. And every problem that comes up feels ten times worse cause it's on top of a million other problems that being unemployed brings. And the solutions to most of those problems cost money. Unemployment is like it's own kind of hell. I'm glad you're out of it, and I'm glad I'll be out of it soon.
