I cringe at the thought

I don't know if anyone else does this but when I hear someone say Happy New Year it actually triggers my body to cringe. Ugh, the though of another year is just way too much..

I'm numb to it these days.
It's the same when someone wishes you a happy birthday or to have a nice weekend etc.

Just flash a small fake smile and niceties.

Yes, I understand. To me, there is nothing happy about new year, this year will likely be the same as the last one, maybe even worse. For me there is just more suffering ahead. I dread the future.
