do you want to talk about it? i personally find that talking about it even if the other person is only listening helps me. i typically talk to myself until i find the answer myself or they say something that makes me see the way im thinking in a different light.

I know how you feel. I often think back on my life and think about how things got so wrong. At different points in my life, things could've gone a completely different direction, but I ended up going nowhere.

On an intellectual level, I know that it is up to me now to turn things around for myself. But I also can't help but think it's too late. I'm too far behind.

It's not too late :) I have hallucinations and BPD and cptsd, dissociation (there's a few more but I think you get the idea) and I'm trying to get better and I know I can do it.
Also I'm not pro-life but if I have something positive to say I'm going to say it.

I've had mental issues for nearly 3 decades plus a skins condition and constant failures all round !

First maybe try to understand what it is you are actually feeling. What specific emotions are within your negative feelings and what parts of you or the world are they directed towards? Then you can start to think about why you feel these things and how you could possibly address the problem.
