I havent had suicidal thoughts for a few days now. And I've been taking lithium for like a week. Also when I feel happy it doesn't turn into a manic episode either.
The only downside is that sometimes I have pain in my finger or heart/sides, also it feels like my organs like expand inside my body sometimes? Idk how to explain

I take a low dose but this genuinely seems to work. Do you have an experience with lithium?

I do not have experience taking it. I'm glad it's working well for you. Have you told your doctor about these side effects? Are they monitoring your blood work?

It's nice to see it working for you! I take a slightly high dose and see no good effects...

It has helped many. Just make sure to keep track of your water and drink plenty of it.

The important thing about all meds is that when you feel better, you need to start incorporating proper self care disciplines to boost yourself higher: exercise, meditation, nature, journaling, socialization, volunteering, etc. If you constantly struggle with mental health, as many do here, this is just what you have to do. Diabetics have to take care of their bodies and those who struggle with mental health need to take care of their brains and minds.

Lithium worked great for me, and quickly as well.

It was amazing. It shut off my suicidal thoughts like flipping a switch. I was amazed.

Once your levels are stable, you and your MD may be able to reduce your dose to head off any side effects. The goal is to take as little as possible to be effective. I know that all drugs should be prescribed that way, but most docs take that to heart about lithium.

I would advise always taking it with a full meal and using the extended release version to minimize stomach and digestive effects. I also took several low-dosage pills instead of one big one, i.e. 3 300-mg capsules instead of 1 900-mg capsule. This was my docs idea to be sure that if my digestion is fouled up in any way (I have IBS-D) that my gut will have a better chance of digesting some of each pill instead of the risk of having only one chance to catch it on the way by.

Congratulations!
