I am glad there is no porn section/thread on Sanctioned Suicide

I met a close real life friend today. And there is an online game he enjoys. I won't specify it it is an Asian game. He is part of an online community related to the game. And because we were bored he wanted to show me funny videos and memes. And he showed me the porn section of this community. Some Videos were sort of funny. But also quite disturbing.

And I am saying this as cis man with no sexual traumata. Some videos were funny and made us laugh. I could imagine such content can numb one's sexuality though. And more and more hardcore content is needed. There was nothing illegal but so many explicit hardcore pornography. The intent wasn't to sexually arouse you but to make you laugh.

I cannot imagine the impact of such videos on people with sexual traumata. I know some people develop hypersexuality because of the sexual abuse. And are very sexual in nature. But I also met some women who didn't want to have anything to do with this topic.

We already had this debate once at Sanctioned Suicide. And one good argument was. The internet is full of pornography why exactly should we need it on here. There is no real benefit. I think it would have a very negative impact on this community if it was normal to spread such content frequently on here.

I appreciate that this place has standards and mostly empathetic and chill people.

Allowing porn, gore or other such things opens the flood gates for the wrong crowd making it devolve to a 4chan/Kiwi Farms clone.

i agree the site doesnt need a porn section but i think saying that just because some people don't like porn or certain kinds of porn or might be triggered by it the porn shouldnt exist is a terrible argument. for 1. porn is fictional and hurts nobody (well atleast drawn/written/animated porn, irl porn is an entirely different issue) and many people with trauma find it s good outlet, and 2. it's peoples own responsibility to manage their triggers. just because some people might be triggered by say certain words, doesnt mean we should ban those words or that using those words anywhere is bad.

but like i personally enjoy lots of nsfw content alot of people would consider extreme and i'm not weird sbiut it or snything and i dtill respect people who arent into it. also many of my friends are into the same stuff and actually have some kind of sexual trauma and it helps them cope (but even if it isnt a coping mechanism it's still fine)

this is just untrue lmao. me and everyone i know basically enjoy that stuff and have perfectly fine brsind (well not rrslly but the porn isnt a factor), doesnt feel like dhit because of it, and doesnt objectify snyone. infact, sll my friends who consume porn are actively feminist and against objectification of any kind and advocate heavily for seperation between fiction snd reslity.

for some it can cause those issues sure but that'd not because of the porn entirely, it's also on them tbh.
