I am afraid to talk to my therapist about what I did

I told my therapist I had joined this site as a place to find peace. She has faith in me doing what I feel is right. What she doesn't know is that I felt so desperate yesterday that I made a post asking for methods. She might think to put me in a hospital. I've been to one before and faced sexual harrassment. I really would rather suffer than open myself up to more potential pain. It's not fair.....

She's there to serve you, not for you to serve her. You don't have to disclose everything to her. If it doesn't serve you to tell her, then I think your fear of doing so is a wise guide, akin to fearing walking into traffic, because you'll likely get severely injured. Does that make sense?

If you need support for what you're doing, such as asking about methods, there are plenty of understanding, rational and supportive people here to listen and try to help you work out what's bothering you, if it bothers you that you're asking for methods. None of us has the power to get you sectioned for talking about it.

That is true. I think its more so I am scared for myself.

Your therapist will only be required to notify authorities if you give her reason to believe you intend to harm yourself or others very soon after you leave her office. Even if you give her detailed plans of how you want to go about it.
Never say ''I'll jump off a bridge when i leave your office '' or something to that effect.
