As I got ready for bed, I thought to myself "tonight I am not in the mood to moisturize my skin, I will do it tomorrow night, not a big deal, right?" Not so fast, it is not that easy. My mind is philosophical, and can be a pain in the butt at times.

The thought "how you do one thing is how you do everything" came from nowhere.

A couple of years ago I watched a documentary about becoming a navy seal.
To make a long story short, a general said that the candidates must make their bed first thing in the mornings, and their shoes must be polished, and a couple of other things, and everything must be perfect, before inspections.

So he said, he demands that the candidates do this, because if the candidate cannot do the little things right, how would he do the bigger things (missions) right. He said that his top seals do these little things right AND they go on specialized missions. All he ask from his candidates is to do the little things right, if they can't do it, then he simply can't trust them with bigger things. He said "how you do one thing, is how you do everything"

I think baby steps are important, so that you can cultivate balance in your life, the compound effects of doing trivial things right will set you up for the bigger things.

If you only do one thing right in your life, and the rest of your life is one big mess…you will eventually lose the one thing that you did right, because of mental problems.

Anyway;

Good night;
