I would describe the SS community as a safe place for those whose suicidal thoughts aren't considered normal or rational in this stupid world.

"a group of like-minded individuals, who share knowledge & resources :: the most evident being compassion and understanding without judgements or reservation. The commitment to communicate with one another, no matter the conciousness or outcome is what makes this an awesome community... they make the difference. They are the difference".

I am a very new member (as you all have probably noticed already), but in my until-now short stay here, I have seen so many pure compassion and longing for understanding one another. In my personal life I can be very manipulative because I know if I would be true to myself and show that, I would just be rejected. My (and our, if I may) way of thinking (especially in pro-choice) is almost condemned in a way, the censorship is incredible (with the most negative intonation of the word).

Just yesterday I first had a private chat with another member. It was several hours, but at no point in that time did I feel any urge or need to divert from my actual opinions or who I believe I am. I could be myself, and that could be appreciated, while even assisting someone who wanted to talk. That is very powerful for me, and I also helped (hopefully) another; win win!

I have never met such a collective community which is so respective and thoughtful of others. And that on a suicide forum? Try to convince others of that, it sounds insane, which is the beauty of it. How this forum is more civilised than my government's debates is a form of irony that never ceases to amuse me.

For anyone still reading, I hope you are able to create a better tomorrow for yourself, whatever that tomorrow may entail :).

If anyone ever wants to talk, my DM's are open!

Wonderful but deeply troubled bunch. That's not to say being troubled is in any way a bad thing. I think the open, almost unconditional seeming acceptance of ones own and others troubles makes this place a strangely human place.

What's more human than deciding life and consciousness isn't worth it anymore (for whatever personal reasons), and yet still giving compassion to others who share that sentiment? No animal is even remotely capable of that. Might be one of the highest expressions of consciousness really. Sorry if that sounds pretentious.

No animal is remotely.... whaaaat?!
I work with wildlife :: very complex incredible social structures. And emotional truth beyond human scope. Empathy is not an exclusively human trait :: (above) a juvenile comforts a recently defeated screaming male :: according to Shaun de Waals study :: consolation reflects a sense of empathy. The juvenile has nothing to gain, infact more to lose coming into conflict with the enemy of an alpha.
...maybe animal suicide ideation is foreign & confusing. I agree, but having tried to rescue beaching dolphins myself in Capetown (without success) makes me wonder....
and watching elephants anxiously mourn over the bones of a matriarch is evidence of memory and emotional intelligence.
Way more than I have (emotionally retarded, selfishly stunted imp that I am..!)

You're right, empathy and emotion isn't just human. The idea is of putting an end to ones own consciousness is. And other humans recognising that and showing understanding towards it is something that only humans can do really. At least as far as I'm aware. That's what I meant, wasn't trying to say we are the only living beings capable of emotion and empathy/compassion, was more trying to say we're the only living beings capable of being empathetic towards suicide, because we are the only living beings who even think of suicide as an option (again as far as I'm aware), and that that makes a place like this something uniquely human, in a strange way. Sorry if that was unclear, maybe I worded it too pretentiously or strongly.

Also very cool work you do, glad someone like you could tell me a bit about animals. Interesting pic too.

& dolphins are actually gay sharks...!

No, I get your meaning :: and your communication was clear enuff. Good stuff.

The fragility of life // the will to survive etc always amazes me.
Studies show apparently homosexual longterm pairings of lions and dolphins. Not sure.

Understanding man's motive for ending life (own /others) fascinates me :: I've watched those fuckawful videos of addictedly starving monkeys on cocaine and am left with many questions :: how close are we to primate patterns if we can invoke &trigger addiction, sumthing that seems human in origin / nature (not 2mention the medical fraternity greenlighting these barbaric tests)
What also really gets me is when mothers (for no apparent reason) kill /consume their newborns. I understand social structures, esp if alpha / offspring bring about survival issues. Ive had to physically/ forcefully separate a lioness from her cubs because of her scary clear intention to destroy them. Many factors affecting / influencing, but it is a mindfuck nonetheless..

Some of the people here are really kind and caring about people and their feelings, but there's a small amount of people who are just assholes from what I've seen.

I may be soft in your palm
But I'll soon grow hungry for a fight
And I will not let you win
My pretty mouth will frame the phrases
That will disprove your faith in man
So if you catch me trying to find my way
Into your heart from under your skin
Fast as you can, baby
Scratch me out, free yourself
Fast as you can

Lmfaooo what ;-;
I would've warned you, but, really, what's the point?
Caution could, but rarely ever helps
Don't be down, my demeanor tends to disappoint
It's hard enough even trying to be civil to myself

How would you describe the SS community?
The people of SS from 2018 to now imo know more about reality than the brainwashed normies and pro-lifers. Just one example of the normies and pro-lifer delusions is their desire to become old. that imo is totally irrational . As a contrast the SS members tend to agree with me more when i say i don't want to become old and will ctb before that happens.

When i mention that i want to die or that we will all die anyway in 100 years the look of shock ,disgust or dismay on the faces of the normies or pro-lifers is priceless.

I would describe it as a place where we can openly talk about these topics without the stigma and judgement. This place is greatly needed in a pro life society that insists we must live no matter how much we are suffering. This forum supports the right to die, which I see as very important. It is free of platitudes and toxic positivity that are on other websites, and we respect other peoples personal decisions. Coming on here is the one thing that makes me feel better. I am so grateful it exists.

Better than Suicidewatch. People really afraid to end it. Portals to view into people's living hells and dysfunction. Brave endings. Yada yada...

A dark hobby/addiction that fills time...but can get so boring.

A place to comfortably talk we can be 100% truthful without worry or fear we'll get locked up. if theres a response, reaction or not its a place we can be heard.
I see it as a supportive group with a lot of kind hearted people.
