  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

its weird to think while standing in line at a busy store that eventually everyone in that place will be dead.

Most people may die of old age or disease- maybe a few in an accident of some form. Lower percentages of murder and suicide, but could be possible.

It is crazy to think about, crazy but interesting.

Crude oil will decline, agriculture and food transportation will seize up, and those people will have longer and longer amounts of time lining up at the store with its emptying shelves. We eat dependent on fossil fuels, Nat gas for fertiliser, oil in pesticides and machinery. That is what the green revolution was. Most people alive today will starve, die in violence or (nuclear) resource wars. Big reason I want to ctb.

I have always wondered how many victims of mass shootings were suicidal anyway?

A million YouTube videos say otherwise.
So a million people basically say so is your argument. Using that as evidence is a fallacy.

That would not be my main argument
How would you respond to hearing several million Muslims deny the prophecies in the book of Revelation? Do their several million more voices add credibility to their claim that Revelation is untrue?

Nope... and a lot of the prophecies in The Book of Revelation haven't happened yet. But when you read that book you should be able to see that we are living in a time when they could happen.

That book was written in the 1st century for the people in that time. Do you really think John of Patmos was writing for an audience 2000 yrs into the future? Do you see anyone writing a book now for the people of the year 4000 AD?

John was literally transported 1900+ years into the future... Wrote what he saw using his 1st century vocabulary... Then God sent him back in time to die a natural death. Then look at what the book of Daniel says about itself which was written over 500 years before Revelation.

"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." Dan. 12:4

Interesting that it says "the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." To me it says at the time of the end travel shall increase (cars, trains, and airplanes) and knowledge shall increase (Internet)

Point being Both Revelation and Daniel might not have been written solely for audiences 2000 years later but both books could not be understood properly for around 2000 - 2500 years after they were written.

And parts of Revelation are for people in 4000 AD and beyond.

9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

Revelation.... When even suicide is impossible... Ugh

Pretend you've never heard about Christianity before and re-read that first paragraph. How does it sound to you?

The great thing about religious texts is that you can interpret them to say whatever you want. Muslims frequently do that with the Quran by saying it predicted scientific advances. "To and fro" clearly means movement. Why does it need to be referring to cars and planes? "Knowledge shall increase" means that as time goes on that people will know more. It doesn't necessarily mean the internet. It could be talking about books (scrolls).

9 verses later...

And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

And that's why I don't plan on being around for this. You can off yourself before the Tribulation begins but once it starts you're screwed...to be killed off by much worse ways.

In the past minister's taught this was going to come about by Supernatural means, but now they simply make lethal means illegal.

That's called confirmation bias. Tallying up things that seem to fit the prophecies while ignoring things that don't. Another fallacy
