  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I know there's many ways to writing a suicide note and that each persons is pretty unique to themselves and their situation. Some people address different people of their life, others try to explain the pain, most remind people it's not their fault. Some are short, others are full manifestos. It's just interesting to see all the different type and honestly I can't say i've ever come up with a note that in proud of. I'm not sure who I should address in my life, nor am i very sure of if it should be long and contain everything because then who will actually care enough to read it, also i wouldn't want it to be short and cliche.
Anyways I know a lot of you already have your notes and I was just wondering how you wrote yours/came up with idea/etc.
Also know there are people who don't believe in leaving a note and i'd want to hear why that's become the case or why it's their best option

As for me, I wrote different notes to my family, ex friends (no hatred), students and even to my dog lol.

I just thanked them for being part of my life and explained to them that there's no need to be sad about my death because this is exactly what I wanted and I'm more than happy with my decision.

I can't write it now and I don't think I'll be able to when the day comes, it's coming soon so I'm anxious... if I try to write one, I'll write what comes to mind at the time, probably just asking to be cremated and a short quote that translates my feelings.

i wrote kind of two suicide notes. one being lyrics i had copied from my favorite song, signed with the song title and artist's name. (last words of a shooting star by mitski.)

the second was just instructions and wants. "not your fault, please log into this account, tell people i care for (specific wishes) and then log out and never touch it again."

i have tried writing suicide notes explaining how i feel, why, ect, but there's no usage for it if no one is going to even understand, right?

sometimes, depending on the situation, it's just best not to write a note. it's just better to keep last words to yourself, i guess... or maybe i'm just a little down today? who knows.

I can't find a way of expressing what scum my parents are. I'm 30 years old and too old to be thinking about this shit but only when you're so close and people are sticking knives in your back, throwing rocks at your head. When you really were trying to cross the bridge but the medical system not only didn't help me across but threw me down. Do you see the truth about who's really horrible.

What an odd way to phrase it.
I find @abruptum's way of expressing himself to be charming. He meant he also knows that some don't believe in leaving a note. As for me, I see no reason to leave a note because it might do more harm than good, in some unexpected way.

None of my notes ever feel very complete. I always try to answer any questions people have, give reason for my departure, and say what I want people to know. I hate the idea of taking my life and not saying things I want to be said, or known.

In my notes, I plan to say things like 'I am at peace' and 'there is nothing you could have done'. I have tried to write one before, but when I properly do it, I plan for it to try and give some sort of closure and it can act as an explanation.

I think it might come as a surprise for some people, so I'm leaving one so they don't think I was murdered or something.
it's just a short essay addressed to my parents assuring it's not their fault and giving some explanation. I'm sending a shorter one to my (ex I think) bf online too.
