Hello
Basically like the title says. I'm so much talkative I need to shut up and speak way less but always when I try to stay quiet I just go on and speak... Please help I wanna be a mute person who speaks only when it's needed. I can't recover while being so loud.

I had this problem when I was younger. But people gave me shit for it and I learned to stop. I think it comes with maturity. It helps to be interested in other people, which probably also depends on the people you are surrounded with.

when I was a kid, I played piano and my teacher made us do a 'stop and prepare' before spots we were having trouble with.

I've used this throughout my life for things that I do impulsive and compulsively. It takes some practice, but if you're patient, you can train yourself to pause first and reflect on what you're about to say or do, then make a decision on whether or not to go through with it.

Silence in a conversation can be an anxiety trigger. Do you speak to avoid silence?

Excessive speaking is also an Asperger trait. Asperger children have also been called "little professors" for their inclination to expound on a particular topic. Throttling back can be difficult if there is enthusiasm for the subject being discussed. One technique may be to salt ones conversations with questions for the other person so that one forces oneself to listen to the response.

Not necessarily. I know plenty of people including me who struggle with talking a lot and none of us have Aspergers or are on the spectrum. I enjoy talking a lot since I'm a very social person by nature and some people find that more annoying than others

My best friend is hyper vocal as well. I can be at times. Like lately lol. I can't control it. In the hospital they gave me 50 mg of seroquel thru out the day. I'm trying that during quarantine and I've managed to control myself pretty well. Note I am very well adjusted to seroquel.

I mean it might be working great for you but I'd rather die than take any mental medication because it makes my self esteem ultra low and it's already low. I tolerate physical medications only.

It took me years to adjust to each medication I'm on. The adjustment period is terrible. I'm severly mentally ill so i must stay medicated. I can control myself much better. Im not freaking out and annoying people by talking out loud all day.
