How To Disappear Completely

Hi all. Longtime reader (like 7 years now, jesus time moves fast when you're just waiting to fucking die lol) first time poster. I have begun recording goodbye audio recordings for all the people in my life i cared about. I bought a 357 snub nose. I've been out of work and am broke as fuck but have $250 coming my way in the next couple days and figure that should be enough to get somewhere pretty by plane bus or train. But I just want to disappear completely, like never have my body wash up or be found by anyone. I know hiding your own body (L O fucking L) is probably hard as hell but does anyone have any ideas? I've thought about shooting myself into like one of those super hot acid pits in yellowtone, going to one of the coasts and renting a kayak and taking it out as far as I can go and then popping myself but I would love other suggestions.

The Badlands in South Dakota. You could camp there, gamble and drink in town before you head for the mountain/ cliffs.

A snowy and mountainous region would be a good option. Your chance of being undiscovered would be good off the trail, your remains would be scavenged by animals however.

I'm envious that you have such a chance to be free.

My dream way out is to go far into the mountains of Asheville with loads of beer and a gun. No one is going to suspect any sound that deep in the woods and booze to me feel good one last time.

So first of all, it's really important to consider if you have loved ones that would miss you if you disappeared. Not knowing what happened to you could be torture for your family. This is something I thought about a lot, but ruled out for that reason. But I'm not going to judge you, for all I know you dont have loved ones, or have given this a lot of thought and decided this is the right thing for you.

So if you really want to do this, here's what I would do if I were going to attempt this. I'm assuming you're in the USA, based on what you said about Yellowstone. If I were in the US, I would withdraw money from my bank, so that I wouldn't leave a trace as to where I were going with card transactions, and would dump my phone and all possessions apart from my bank card, so that I could get cash out along the journey if needed. Then I would use cash to buy a bus ticket to another state. I'd pick a state that had a large desert. I'm thinking I would go to somewhere like California and go to the Mojave desert. There are hiking trails (like the pct for example) out there, and there is a culture of hitch-hiking. So you can get a ride out to the desert relatively easily if you go to the right town. Then I'd hike for several hours away from the path, so that I was miles and miles away from anywhere that anyone would be walking through. Id bury my bank card in the sand, and then after several miles more of walking I'd then take SN. But naturally, a gun or whatever else would work just as good.

With the desert conditions, my body would decay more quickly. And if anyone did eventually find me I would have no possessions on me anyway, so identifying a body would be impossible if it had been left to decay for a while.
