Six months ago, I rescued a starving kitten from my backyard. Since then, we've been inseparable. She follows me around my house 99% of the time (even if it's annoying and I'm constantly changing rooms), and she'll cry when I shut the bathroom door. It's truly something I've never seen before in a cat, and I've had several other cats throughout the years.
But, because of her dependency on me, I truly love her, and it's difficult for me to fathom her existence without me. I don't love anyone else, and it isn't very hard for me to say goodbye to my human family, but every time I try to think of saying goodbye to my cat, I just breakdown, and I don't want to leave her. I even have a second cat at my dad's house, but she's extremely independent, and she won't miss me too much lol.
But this cat, apparently she acts like a completely different cat when I come home from school, as she turns extremely giddy and bouncy. I doubt she'll ever have another bond with anyone that is as strong as mine, so it pains me for her quality of life to decrease because of me.
Does anyone have advice for how to get over this?
