This site has literally kept me alive the past few days (months)? Today was especially hard. I had told myself after my failed attempt in August that I would not live to see 2019, well here it is. Can't say I won't ctb in the next few months and have met some fine potential partners (if that ever works) but I "blame" this site for helping me stay alive, though I'm on here rather obsessively. It is always nice to know that I am not alone and I thank you all for that.

I think one of the purposes of this site is to let people fantasize about suicide then realize it can't be done. Then to move on and live. You might be one of those people. You just need the fantasy of possible suicide.

There have been members who have ctb'd but yae i think this site has saved a few people aswell. Giving them alternative means to try to improve their life and find reasons to live. Or realizing they can't ctb so they just move on. Its a very beneficial site.

In real life, if you talk about suicide or choice, you'll be seen as mentally ill and get locked up.

This site is geared more towards logic than others when it comes to ctb. Its a great site.

This site actually kept my torment at bay during the last few months, and when I was first a lurker here, I stumbled on Thread's firearm megathread back in July 2018 and that brought me relief, since I never found any thread as thoroughly written and detailed on everything that I ever want to know about firearms and ctb'ing with them. When I think about how I can ctb with a firearm, it brings me a sense of agency and peace.

It may actually have a protective effect instead of pushing you into ctb. I think that if a person is going to do it, they will and you can only do so much to help or prevent it. If the person's mind is made up and it's a well thought out decision good luck trying to talk them out of it.

I couldn't agree more. Usually friends and family do not understand what it feels like to just want to die. It's so comforting know I'm not the only one and to share our experiences with people who feel the same and not be judged like many of close friends would do. Also a huge comfort in when I do decide to leave I know the right mesaures to take. Thank you all for sharing your experiences.
