Since suicide would make it difficult to donate organs after death would you be willing to donate your kidney or other organs before death?

Nah I got diabetes and potentially other health issues so I don't think my kidney or any organs would even be viable.

Same as Dr Iron Arc, my organs are not in any condition to be used whatsoever . . . If they were, however, I would absolutely donate whatever I could just to get it out of me.

This got me thinking..... there are people desperate for organs. More people waiting for transplants than organs available and many of them don't get their transplant in time. It got me contemplating the potential for making a mutual arrangement whereby one gets to ctb peacefully in exchange for the relevant organ/s. It's a bit pie in the sky, I know. Just one of those 'where there's a will' kinda thoughts. It kind of makes sense from a moral standpoint when thinking in ths eyes of government etc. One party is going to die either way. Doctors insist on saving lives and are opposed to ctb but would they take a different stance if one life was lost to save another.

Of course compatibility would be an issue to address but all things being well this would potentially be a great compromise for euthanasia to be possible with minimal moral issues clouding things as people could sign up to a system by which they go get tested for all the relevant specifics for transplant and be provided a peaceful euthanasia (assisted or otherwise) and in the process help save a life therefore mitigating the loss perceived in the form of worker bee/consumer.
I honestly feel that is a good solution. The only issue is that it would exclude people with unviable organs for whichever reason. It would however be a good first step and serve to desensitise the public to euthanasia. From there things could progress over time.

It will never happen though will it!? :(

If only there was a place to sell your body for harvested organs. I really want to leave my family some good sum amount of money in exchange for their trouble raising me. I know it will not do from their point of view but that way I can leave while making sure they at least have enough to live comfortably after I am gone. I really wish that is an option.

I think you could do a life insurance policy… At least in United States but I think you have to survive for two years after signing the policy for it to remain valid

That wouldnt work in shithole i am in. They already account for things like suicide as being invalid basis for life policy

David Rockerfeller got heart transplant like 9 times which makes me wonder how did he manage to get on the transplant waiting list and get it as many times? 🤔

I would remove both of my kidneys with a spoon and donate them. Or if no one wanted them, make them into soup. But they'd just accuse me of attention seeking again. :blarg:

But of course. I don't plan to live longly anyway and extra money for alcohol, cigarettes and drugs to look after myself palliatively would come in handy.

I did check the donation box for giving my organs/eye tissue at the DMV. So yeah take whatever you can from my dead body and cremate the rest I don't want to leave a body behind after I die.

Me? Nah.

As lupus can affect the kidneys, I don't think I'll be eligible as a donor. As many as half of adults with systemic lupus develop lupus nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys that can cause them to stop working). Before effective treatments were made available, kidney failure used to be the leading cause of death for people with lupus. While I've (thankfully) never encountered any kidney-related issues, my kidneys have to be regularly monitored (through urine tests) to make sure are functioning as they should be.

I'd donate anything I could honestly. I feel like at the end of the day if somebody wants so badly to live, I think it's fair I can provide something to them that I no longer desired.

I'm desperate to donate my organs. I had every opportunity in life and threw it all away.
But I'm taking immunosuppressants that make my body a toxic dumping ground, so they won't even accept my blood let alone anything else.
I could quit taking them and after a few months would be eligible for donation, but I would also lose the use of my legs and quite possibly the rest of my body too.
This is going to take some real chess grandmaster thinking.
