It cleared up within two days for me. If you're a woman, you could use green concealer and foundation to hide it. I also wore a hoodie. No one seemed to get suspicious.

And word of advice: use a non-stretch rope! My rope stretched and therefore extended to the ground. My carotid arteries could not be compressed either, so partial would not have worked.

You failed at full? What was the rope you used?

After a 3 second full suspension about 10 to 14 days. Most of the damage was healed ina few days. Some knew I did it too, one person walking by even said "did he attempt to hang himself?". Used a thin extension cord and tried to hang from the attic (I am not overweight either, in good shape) and it left quite the mark.

Why did you fail? Did the extension cord break or what happened?

I had ladders underneath me and managed to stand on them. I could not take that amount of pain you see and that is why I am researching painkilling drugs although good information on that is hard to come by even on here. Alcohol does not work by the way, it gives you the balls to try but does not take you out of your agony

Just some rope I found around (I was a teenager at the time and assumed any old rope would work). IIRC it was stretchy. That's why I recommend using a non-stretch rope. :) If I used a non-stretch rope, I probably wouldn't be typing this right now.
