I'm sorry if the question is too direct. If things go well I'll be dead soon, and well...I'm curious I guess. To those that have experience, how is it like to die? What were you thinking before going unconscious? Was it just like falling asleep? Were you nervous?
ive experimented with partial hanging and with that i got a kind of feeling you are falling asleep and my arms and body in general started to feel numb. i havnt got further than that stage yet though so dont know what would happen next

There was a point in my most recent attempt where I was almost positive that I wouldn't be waking up again.
It was honestly quite a peaceful experience, you slowly feel yourself slipping and losing control of your body (at least in my case) until you eventually fall asleep.
There was no pain or anxiety for me, I was too out of it to even experience that.

Partial hanging was pretty peaceful for me when I was severely depressed. Fearless and wanting to "see" what non-existence is like, I tied a clove hitch knot to my anchor point, a hanger pole in the closet, and a slip knot on the other end to hang on. Tightened the rope at the middle part of the neck at an angle to put pressure on the sternomastoid muscle to compress carotid arteries. I then kneeled, and went numb then started to lose consciousness in 15-20 seconds with zero pain. I've done it hundreds of times for 2 years and felt calm and comforted every time I did it. Comparing it to now, being unconscious is better than sleeping with strange dreams and nightmares, but dead is infinitely better than just unconscious.
I was almost free and still suffering because of my indecisiveness.
