Sometimes I'm extremely thankful for it because I can just openly say "gonna kms tomorrow lmao" and everyone goes LOL RELATABLE instead of calling me crazy or trying to institutionalize me and it's nice to be able to actually say it, but sometimes I'm annoyed that nobody reaches out and it makes me feel like nobody cares when it's real. It's kind of a complicated thing and I'm curious what you guys think

I love it, i can mess around with everyone, some acquaintances call me "immortal boi".
It's also a way to prepare them for what's coming, so, no big trouble for me, but i understand your point. I would recommend "malaise in the culture" by Freud, has some pretty good observations.

I find them amusing. I think it's the way a lot of people cope with underlying depression and frustration, even if they aren't actually suicidal.

Being able to meme about my death is probably the best gift this century has had to offer, for me personally.

I posted memes about depression and suicide a couple of times on r/2meirl4meirl. I got only one response who was concerned about my mental well-being, but the rest responded relatably. I guess it can be used a coping mechanism of sorts. It makes you feel less alone and you can make fun of your own misery. I'm not sure how healthy it actually is, though, but I really don't care about that anymore.

That's a subreddit I usually frequent. I get most of my memes from Reddit lol... They're all sad.

I posted a meme in a Reddit about suicidal thoughts and was surprised with the reactions. I've even seen in some of the suicide subreddits people talking about the right to die more often and more people talking about it. Plus they are usually posted around talking about how pro-lifers usually give the "everything will get better" or "be positive bs" and shut it down and say it doesn't help. By shutting down the pro being able to choose they have let those people loose and they are going to different places explaining that sometimes things aren't able to have solutions.

It's bringing light to a subject that needs to be talked about because everyone goes through stuff, they can deny or deflect. But it becoming a common meme and joke has got more people talking about it, which can branch to different areas within that subject, and even to analyze the world the way it is.

I think they're funny but my close friends and family know I'm suicidal and some don't find it funny when I show them those kinds of memes.

I have a morbid and offensive sense of humor, so I love it. I love being able to talk about things freely without people getting triggered over it.

2meirl4meirl has been invaded by normie memes. You haven't lived until you've gone to r/2meirl42meirl4meirl and been hit by a soul crushing OOF.

i can see the comedy in it. but it also sort of undervalues and lessens the seriousness and severity of suicide and mental health problems.
