I think my brain stays down because there's no incentive to get up: staying unconscious is a better net value than living life. When I do get up and can stay up, I need to catch-up on my To Do list, which is primarily

(1) researching my mom's demise. I make the call for when she goes from life-sustaining to life-ending care as well as other arrangements and documentation.
(2) emptying out my place. Hard because I'm tossing everything I worked so hard for and confirming my life had no significance. Also, with this old surgical masks, I really did find a use for it after all these years! :)
(3) going crazy with my neighbor's low-volume sub-bass sound effects. He's insistent on enjoying his setup. I might switch to a natural gas CTB (kidding).

I know my brain tape tells me
(1) I don't matter
(2) When I do try something, it usually blows up in my face somehow.

Regarding finding something enjoyable, after years of not really connecting with people and finally doing things by myself, things now feel lonely, awkward, almost purposeless.

Sorry I sound so negative. Just trying to figure out how to function until I can CTB. Thanks.

I literally roll myself off sometimes. :pfff:
No, seriously, I have a bunch of blankets on the floor because summer here is murderous, so when I need an extra kick, I roll myself off.

Do you live nearby? I have a neighbor just like that! He literally makes windows rattle with his oh-so-cool sound system. I genuinely want to punch his face over it sometimes.

Hmm, I might try that. Reminds me of when I crashed on my bike and was laying on the street. A car saw me--and drove around my motionless body. At least, they didn't run over me!

That's a tough situation with your mum. I've been through that myself.

I have always loved to sleep. Due to medical issues I've severely lacked sleep over the past four years. I'm talking less than two hours a night. It's been better recently because I'm listening to my body more but I'd still absolutely love to sleep in though have no chance of ever doing so.

I'm sorry about your mom....

I don't have trouble getting out of bed, my sleep cycle is so fucked up, I would be happy to not get up, even for a day. But I'm to jumpy, I can't force myself to stay in. Always tired, looking like a zombie, but hey, I'm up :D

I take care of all my animals 1st thing in the morning. It's the highlight of my day and keeps me going. If I don't, my guinea pig will start screeching.

I've answered this kind of question before. Prepare for the same answer I gave them.

You will count down from 3, or 5, your choice. You will set yourself to jump out of bed as soon as the countdown finishes, no matter what. Repeat this to yourself until you feel ready. Sitting up straight works too, if leaping out is too much. Take your time counting, but DO NOT go too slowly; that shall be the downfall of this method.

As you count down, prepare yourself. Focus on the task, which you've told yourself that you would dedicate yourself to for the morning. And once you reach the end, you throw yourself with everything you have.

A controversial, yet successful way of getting up from bed onto your two feet in the morning/afternoon. I do hope this serves you well, as it has for me (I have avoided missing important days because of this, despite my current, dreary condition). Give it a shot. I wish you the best :)

I open my eyes, put on a big smile on my face, stretch out my arms, put my two feet on the floor and do some jumping jacks.

Nah just kidding, I never wake up that way. The agony of living prevents me from getting out of bed. It's worse than my sleep paralysis demons.

Since we're having a super duper long vacation the first thing I do is grab my cellphone to check some shit. Then if I still have some battery left, I check on my games to collect rewards. I should drink water first, but unfortunately that's not the case most of the time.
