Just wondering, and it would be great to know that a certain method worked, however, it's currently extremely difficult if not impossible to guarantee a user has successfully CTB.

Yea, but that could just mean the person has been blocked or simply left the site, doesn't necessarily mean that person caught the bus unless they stated otherwise beforehand.

I have seen two obituary's/reports already this year of members who successfully caught their bus by their chosen method. Ages, locations, timelines all fit as does the name of one of those. There was also a report in the press about 2 others who were members here at the back end of last year that have been confirmed.

I am not going into details, if you use the search function I am sure you will find that information for yourself.

I wish I could avoid an obituary or any news stories. Do suicides always make it in the news.

I highly doubt it unless you leave a massive trail of evidence behind, 100s of people commit suicide daily so unless you do something newsworthy you won't.

Missing people and bodies found make it into local news.

Exactly what I was saying "newsworthy" AKA catching people's attention if you use generic suicide methods and found in a hotel or your home your family doesn't contact news sites it won't make it.

Obviously, if you're famous this won't apply.

But generally speaking, police and doctors can only disclose this information to your next of kin due to data protection laws and if they disclose this information to 3rd parties without written consent they will be facing legal prosecution.

I'm here for serious answers not trolling, funny guy.
What does it all matter to you?

Obviously to inspire and motivate others to actually guarantee their methods worked. AKA giving people the confidence to commit.

I apologize, just being humorous, maybe put a smile, nothing inflammatory or derogatory. I understand you asked seriously and my reply may be disrespectful. I accept that and I'm truly sorry  Shall I delete my comment?

Unless you know the person in real life there's no way to know for sure. If someone posts a goodbye thread and then never logs in again, it's safe to assume it worked

No. One of the basic rules is not to motivate or encourage.
https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/rules-and-faq.4/

There's seem to be some misconception about this place? As explained when asked why many people haven't committed suicide:
Because members are not here "to commit suicide".
It's a pro-choice forum, not pro-suicide.

Yes . it is impossible . They will end up to hospital if CTB was unsuccessful and they will not be able to tell us

Giving people the confidence to commit guaranteeing the calculations are correct and if done properly will work, nobody wants a failed attempt that is why it's good for others to share their experiences so we can build reliable methods.

Obviously to inspire and motivate others to actually guarantee their methods worked. AKA giving people the confidence to commit.

Read it again, it says to guarantee that specific method worked which is basically saying that the person is ready and wants to commit suicide and is simply looking for information required to complete the task correctly. that's my personal experience.

Unless you have enough personal information on the person to follow-up on them, last active date and time is all we have.

I thought it was funny! Is that twisted? I refuse to go through life without seeing the humor.

Pretty sure obits are only published by the funeral home if you plan on that route for your body. A death 'notice' can be published in any paper though; I believe only by a family member - I'd have to research exact specifics.

My partner CTB on December 8. I knew there would be no obituary. How do I know? I don't. He posted a goodbye post, stopped talking here and stopped talking to me. He also mailed me a handwritten letter I received after he CTB.

I assume it is true. There are easier ways to break up with me if he wanted to than fake a suicide. I also don't think he would have wanted to throw the board into mourning and he wouldn't have wanted those who CTB to be with him to do so.

NO. Some people need to lighten up... life is hard enough without being grumpy.
I thought your post was funny... and there's nothing wrong with a smirk or a chuckle once and a while

I suppose there's no way for sure to know in most cases , but a lot of those who fail do come back to report what went wrong and why.

I will be sending a local web based news link to several members here in private so that they can monitor it for details.
I'm doing so only because I want others to know more about my method of choice and how it works.

There should be some mention of it if anyone reports me missing ( doubtful ) or if I'm found where I hope to CTB ( not in private home )

They can then confirm that, yep.. it worked. Or.. I will come back and say.. nope, f'd up.
