• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I mean sometimes they might have a point. Sometimes they are too pejorative. Sometimes they can hurt.

Personally, I don't try to be too sensitive. One should be able to face criticism. My personal response is often though: no response. If I have the feeling there is a personal attack againist me (in an injust way) I simply ignore it most often. If someone has a point people will see that. If many people agree with it then I respond. But if it is only one person there might be people who defend me. Then I don't feel the need to intervene. In general I don't think the reputation matters that much in an anonymous suicide forum.

I think it is seldom that I have reported anyone for offending me. I think this might happened once or twice years ago.

What about you?

The thing about a suicide forum is that (and I don't think this is controversial or offensive to say) we are not neurotypical bastions of mental health.

Many people here have experienced a wide range of trauma and while this is one of the most welcoming places to talk, sometimes it can turn into a cycle of triggering one another in a downward spiral. I haven't had many people tell me off directly but I have felt that my presence and things that I've shared to be.. unwelcomed to put it nicely.

I'm empathetic towards them. The last time I tried being supportive here I ended up triggering the person I was talking to instead. They didn't say anything negative about me but I still felt responsible. I took a step back from the forum for a while. I wouldn't take it personally. Everyone is dealing with their own hurts, the people on here more than most.

Just makes me feel I'm right at home, people behaving towards me as they do in "real life".

I don't think I had any negative or aggressive comments but being susceptible it affects me on the spot and after I crash my session and I remember that I don't know anyone here.
But to be honest I thought I was on your list of ignored but it is not the case ( report a response from me that as you pointed out to provoke a non-answer from you)

I don't understand the last sentence. People told me I should respond more in my threads. And they have a point in that. I tried to do better. But I have sort of OCD when I am interacting with people often. It makes me anxious. But I think I Do better than in the past.

I'm the only one making all the negative comments about myself so I deal with it by continuing to make more. That'll show me.

I don't really care tbh for the most part although I recently did get irrationally terrified when making a thread on here asking for help. Aside from that though, some people here have said negative comments about me in the past and I don't really care since I know that my views are going to controversial anyway (even on here) and I acknowledge that, like all online places, this place is ultimately infected with humans doing their human bullshit so that's just something that I have accepted. You can't appeal to everybody and I already know that my beliefs are going to piss most humans off

Nothing to worry about but I answered harshly on a subject you did because I felt concerned.
Wrongly of course so even if you do not see what I mean I apologize

In which case that's good, right? If this "nobody dislikes me except me uwu" is real then go with it (unless it's a manipulative cod-sensitive presentation or some weird humblebrag obviously)

Yep. My thoughts EXACTLY. Humans are highly overrated as "intelligent" life forms. 😉 I just consider the source and go on. 😁🥳

Oh I'm sure lots of other people here dislike me but I haven't really seen any posts explicitly being negative about me so I don't have any reason to feel affected by them. I suppose it is rather concerning that more people don't call me out on how much of a terrible person I am but maybe I just overlooked them because I'm not just evil I'm also ignorant and stupid.

Two Re-L appreciators in the same thread, nice.

I don't think anyone has said anything negative about me on here.

If they did, well it wouldn't be the first time I've had critics online.

When I've been pulled up, I've usually deserved it. I try to look at what they wrote and assess whether or to what extent it was fair. If I've been really out of line, I acknowlege it and apologise. And usually feel pretty bad about it too. If I feel like they've been unreasonable or rude, I do my best to not engage further and walk away.

If it's a difference of opinion then, it's a difference of opinion- we all have different opinions. I try not to take it personally. We all hold different values. They're not going to make sense to everyone.

If it's someone I'm likely to regularly argue with because, something about them triggers me (not their fault- probably reminders of people from my childhood I'm trying hard to forget) or, something about me triggers them, I put them on ignore. I don't mind a heated discussion here but I don't come here with the intention of either triggering others and making them upset or, getting into an argument and feeling shit and guilty afterwards. Better to ignore threads or members where we both trigger one another.

Also, I think it's important to keep comments in the context they were exchanged. I do actually remember mentioning ages ago that you didn't tend to respond to people on threads. That wasn't just a random thing I said out the blue though. As I recall, you were commenting that some of your threads had so few responses on them. I then suggested that the reason might be that, people like to discuss things on a forum back and fourth. If they know an OP isn't really in to doing that- which is fine- of course. They may not bother leaving their opinions. So, I didn't exactly mean it as a criticism when I said it. More as a possible reason some of your threads weren't being replied to as much as you'd hoped.

For what it's worth, I always enjoy your threads. I find them very original and thought provoking. I kind of realise I waffle on in my responses and you probably don't want to read a great wall of text but, I still enjoy responding because it gets my thoughts out.

Also, if it was me that upset you, I'm sorry.

I don't think you'll get any honest answers here honestly...
