I would attribute it to the physical strength and tolerance for physical suffering of most of them. They have nothing to do, so they work out a lot. They usually are also strong to begin with too.

Shoe laces are impossible to CTB with unless you were the average size and weight of a squirrel.
It's not thick enough, nor long enough, nor strong enough.
It's another urban legend that miserably fails the test of common sense.

I think it's possible bc it doesn't take that strong of a rope to compress the arteries. Why else would they not let us wear shoes with laces in psych wards

If the OP was asking exactly how it's done we cannot answer questions like that even if we knew. It would be considered coaching someone to ctb. I haven't seen a detailed description of how people do it.Similar threads
