How do I get into hospital? I can't cope. Should I just phone NHS 24 and ask how to commit suicide, or what?
the amount of money it costs to go to hospital makes it a last-ditch option. If I were you I would just go see a psychiatrist. How do I get into hospital? I can't cope. Should I just phone NHS 24 and ask how to commit suicide, or what?

nhs use admission as the absolute last option, they wont put you in there just because you want to go in, its not a getaway camp.
they rarely admit those who have actually attempted and need to be admitted anymore because the service is so incredibly stretched, you're better off going to your doctor to get a referral to community services.
Yes i get that but if they need help they should go and seek it, not ask how to get into hospital online. perhaps i interpreted it wrong and if thats the case i apologise for being blunt. To be fair, I don't think the OP was in any wanting hospitalisation flippantly or acting like it was 'a getaway camp'.
While all systems do have limits and shortages, I still think there is benefit for the OP to attend A&E and at least go through the steps required for assessment. In the event they don't warrant hospitalisation (or in the event they do but there are no beds available) they will then be referred to the appropriate outpatient services.
