I've seen a few profiles with a line through their name presumably meaning they're dead. But how do the admins know? They could've just stopped using that account. Or created a new one if they haven't used it in a while. I think this has been asked before but can't find the post for it.

It's when you select to delete your account. It looks like the account is banned because the posts are being retained instead of deleted with the account like other forums

You will be asked to input your password, and then you will have 48 hours to cancel the timer, otherwise, your account will be PERMANENTLY disabled once the time expires. Your content will NOT be deleted, and your account will still be up, albeit completely inaccessible.

So if they post a goodbye thread then change their mind and don't actually follow through their accounts can be un-usable?

I know that some forum members self-ban simply because they have decided to leave the forum for one reason or another. So, a member whose user name is struck through is not necessarily dead.

They can request to be unbanned. The account will be restored I think.

It has been answered and discussed several times before.

Some members ban themselves. Some ask mods, if they dont contact them after ctb etc. Some are confirmed real reports. Some strikeouts are people that got banned for breaking the rules. Etc.

Different levels of banning determine different levels of access and visibility. Sometimes you may notice a member with a line through their name is viewing a thread. At some levels of ban, the member can receive and respond to PMs but not initiate PMs. At some levels they can't even log in. (This per a conversation I had with @Hasssssuùuu.)

There is no way to be certain someone ctb'd. Some folks self-ban, some ask the mods to ban them. But there's still no way of knowing.

This stuff gets asked so often, it would be nice if the Rules and FAQ addressed the levels of bans with corresponding permissions, as well as how mods know of a ctb or not. It would also be nice to have included in that how long before a self-ban goes into effect, and what privileges are lost in the interim.

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/how-do-you-determine-if-a-user-successfully-ctb.29651/

Senior members are monitored for pulse the whole time.

Their sensors are connected to SS Live Monitoring Centre.

And also this --

It's your lucky day Bob lol

After crunching the numbers here at Sanctioned Suicide Monitoring Centre I can report that 4.28% members have caught the bus.

They do not know that, well, concretely.....nobody knows it.
Maybe people could suppose it or imagine it.
I guess that presumption of ctbing is a sort of ritual or an artificial procedure for developing all death phases.
Like a mourning, something like this.
