The most interesting part is that most of those drugs have been legal at some point in history. Cocaine and heroin, for example, were widely used as medicine on the first half of the 20 century.
Alcohol is extremely hard to criminalize regardless of how harmful it is. It has already been tried and it went horribly, the prohibition only managed to make crime skyrocket and it's part of the reason why some criminal groups got so strong. also, it's so easy to produce that anyone can do it in their homes.
I'm of the opinion that everything should be legal, all of these substances have their side effects and even psilocybin and LSD can be extremelly harmful to some people who are at risk of schizophrenia. But taking the right to make a choice away from people is just as harmful, the reason my country is so fucked is because of the war on drugs that ended up harming everyone instead of helping us. A better alternative would've been to legalize and heavily regulate these substances, however, any politician who tried to push for something like this ended up killing themselves with 3 shots at the back of their heads or with explosives on their vehicles. Drug lords had nothing to do with it, definitely...
