• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This is going by what I think. If someone wants to die, then most likely they don't care about what happens to them since their are no worldly consequences (they'll cease to exist but I know that's controversial with the afterlife).

I just find it unfathomable how telling someone suicide is the "coward's way out" is supposed to scare them into living. Or how it's "incredibly selfish". Why would someone who wants to die and leave this world care?

Trying to understand the psychology of it from anti-suicide people as well as the psychology of a suicidal person.

I get it. No matter what you tell a person (at least in my case) is likely to talk them out of it or change their view. Especially not by insulting them or making them feel bad, if anything it would make them more likely an the situation worse.

It takes a huge effort to do it, you're killing yourself ffs. Gone, that's it, done.
Selfish? Maybe, I can see arguments for that, but cowardly? No. Brave? yep.

Most people are arrogant and respond to challenges such as this in a desperate attempt to prove that they are not inferior. It has no effect on people who no longer care about the long-running dick-measuring contest known as "life."

I agree with CRM, and also think it's a naĂŻve thing to say. However, in considering this question, I realised it is actually very effective in instilling shame in a lot of people who do still care, eg who might ideate but not plan.

Not that I think it's a healthy thought.
