How accurate is the SN blood test?

Is it possible your blood would still turn brown even if the SN degraded or went bad for whatever reason? Why do some people recommend the aquarium strip test over it?

from what i understand the blood test tells you that it is SN but not the purity level of it. Whereas the aquarium test lets you know the general purity of SN.

So if it degraded into nitrate, the blood test would tell you, right?

I'm not sure if SN can become less pure over time while still remaining as SN. Is the aquarium test pointless if you know it's SN, or can it tell you if its gone bad?

I'm not entirely sure but if you wanted to you could buy nitrate and see if it turns the blood brown like the nitrite does.
I'd say if you've had your nitrite for 3+ years and its been exposed to air you should play it safe and just buy a new batch.
If its sealed I think even that amount of time might be ok but personally I would just buy a new bottle.

Well it's getting harder to obtain. I'm worried because of that and because of the temperatures its been exposed to. Still sealed though.
I'd figure there's no point in the blood test if nitrate also turns it brown, but I'm not sure. Maybe it could remain as nitrite, but became less pure over time. I don't even know if that's a thing that can happen or if the blood test would reflect that at all.
