Despite my reservations regarding this method, worth exploring.

I cannot travel freely because of health reasons, I cannot travel to a high mountain somewhere in Switzerland, climb that mountain (!) and jump from an high, steep slope. I don't think anyone will assist me with that either.

So, what is freely available ? Very high buildings or mountains, being able to jump from at least 200 metres (not sure about the exact numbers) on a hard surface. Access by normal transport (train, taxi). Practicality. Such a place near a train station, without obstruction, would not be so bad.

I know it´s such a hassle to find a good spot to suicide jump. I live in Denmark and there are just NO sky scrapers or tall buildings (7+ stories) the only one I found was a hotel that was like 10 stories but then I´d have to book a room and it was an expensive one too. The US has it so easy.

Beachy Head (England) 500ft cliff, no climbing involved as there's land access from the top

@Candour ,

Thanks for the recommendation, but I'd have to cross the channel. Now people know I'm not fromt he UK ...

It's really not THAT high. I wouldn't like to land on water ... what about the surface below ? Hard rocks, sand ? Steep slope ? It's hard to see. The patrols are unwelcome ...

It might work but but it would be rough getting there ...

Any other places ?

In Norway you can find plenty places in which you can jump from, but of course, right now I can't think of any.

Or there is maybe one place... Close to rail as well! I have myself been thinking about this. The Oslo Opera House. It's high enough to kill you for sure, but is it high enough to kill you right away? Not sure.

I have several times been standing on top of this building and asked myself that question, but I'm not sure about the answear.

@ctoan ,

It's a bit of a journey ! I checked some distances. I'm not sure how accessible it is, whether one arrives by plane or train ? Again, the health thing.
That's high ... odd thing is, I can't find anything about suicides with google ...

Per https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Suicide/Jumping 'Many bridges have suffered from jumpers trying suicides. The incidents have been serious breaches of security, so some measures have been tried to discourage suicides by jumping. Adding barriers have been done somewhere. Part-time or even full-time closures of some bridges to pedestrians and possibly cyclists might reduce jumping, but they cannot always prevent occupants of any vehicles allowed on the bridges from getting off to jump off the bridges.' no such barriers there ?

I don't think you can jump from those 'coaches', can you ? Things were easier a few decades ago.

No no, our opera is NOT high enough! In the capitol, Oslo, Holmenkollen is high enough. A good place to jump succesfully is Kolsåstoppen, 30 min from Oslo. 20 min walk to the top and the view is great.

Thank you for this tip. Do you happen to know if there are other recommendable, remote cliffs? I looked at Preikestolen and Kjerag but I cannot find a lot of images that show how straight a drop it is. Wouldn't want to tumble for minutes.. Something non-popular would be great. Preferably in the wilderness without tourists. I want to be devoured by animals before anyone finds me.

(Suicide wishlist haha)

@Volatile ,

Thanks for that. But height about 70 metres, spire 90 metres. I don't know what part is accessible ? 70 metres is not that high.Many variables. I'm also don't know about 'security' (the wrong kind).

25 de Abril Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril) in Lisbon, Portugal

thumbs-web-sapo-io.jpg

The upper platform is 70 m (230 ft) above water, unlike the Golden Gate bridge this bridge is only accessible by car

Weekdays
During the week the traffic is intense on both directions throughout the day
After midnight
03:00-06:00 (24 hour system)
Virtually no traffic

During Daylight
11:00-12:30 (24 hour system)
Some traffic

Weekends
still have to study it...
i will probably jump on the weekend, there's less traffic and Sunday seems the best day for a swim

If you're in Lisbon to kill yourself, i recommend a stop by at Belem to taste a worldwide famous delicacy, the egg tart, Pastéis de Belém

The Pastéis de Belém were mentioned by The Guardian as the 15th most tasty delicacy in the world.

Preikestolen and Kjerag are both too much. Sure you'll die, but those places are widely known for tourists, and of course parachuters. There are many mountains in Norway. In the north, the mountains are more pointed than in the vest (Preikestolen), and less crowded. It's a long journey travelling to Tromsø, Narvik, Harstad. The nature is wilder, and you'll manage the "climbing".

Sorry for not being able to help you more.

Thank you! I don't mind the travel. Whether I spend a few hundreds Euros to fly to a wonderful country or much more to buy N that may or may not arrive intact really doesn't matter.
I was thinking of going at night when the tourists are gone. I was looking further north but couldn't find any large drops like that. I will keep looking and post if I find something.
