Having a narrative or open verdict can be extremely important for families. I have written reports in over 20 inquests arguing that it would be appropriate to return a narrative rather than a suicide verdict, in the case of people whose suicide has been triggered by an antidepressant.

So you were encouraged to say that it wasn't a suicide in cases where they were using an antidepressant?

In a way a good thing for a lot of us but if a family member finds you they will still know it was suicide , I bet insurance companies are not pleased about this thought if there is a suicide clause .

I was actually just reading about if life insurance companies would pay out in the event of a suicide and what I found was that most will in fact pay out the benefit if the person pays their premiums for at least 2 years. This is in the US and I'd imagine it's gonna be different in other countries.

If this is true then suicide rates may be way higher than recorded.

Holy shit. Fucking conspiracy. Would not surprise me in the least if the suicide rates are much higher indeed.

This is so shocking yet it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Thanks for sharing these important sources @poof.

Hi, @poof. I'm a bit confused by the OP. You say you've written over 20 reports for inquests and, without explicitly saying so, represent that you are Dr. David Healy, who is a psychiatrist.

Yet in the following recent quote, you say you are not a medical professional. But a psychiatrist is an MD.

I am not a medical professional but vitamin B12 deficiency does that, as can; thyroid issues, metabolic, heart, and a multitude of other things. Can you talk to your pharmacist? B12 at 1200 micrograms a day for a couple of weeks worked for me.

If you are in fact not David Healy, and are not a medical professional, by what authority have you written such reports, and were they solicited for and included as part of the inquests, or just reports that you wrote and submitted but were not included or considered?

Can you resolve this confusion I'm having?

Thanks.
