I have been browsing the internet for a number of year (3-4 yrs) and have done a lot of reading. It seems that everything I read contradicts itself and then I feel nervous that I don't have a method that will work. I don't want to get into details about why but I need a method that will work 100% and I am willing to put the money into it as I have some saved. But time is getting shorter and I am not closer to finding "the method".

I can't buy a gun as I don't live in a country that has liberal gun laws. Too nervous to spend the money I have saved on N incase it is a fraud. Wishing there was more direct information - like this is the kind of rope you need, this is how you tie the knot, this is where you place the knot, this is how long it will take (long or short hanging) OR carbon monoxide - this is which kind of charcoal you need, this is how much you need, this is the right way to light it, you need _____ amount of charcoal grills, step by step methods. I know there are variables...but if I account for the variables, I need a sure method. As peaceful as possible.

Not even just on here - but there is SO little on the internet. And I have the 8chan or 4 chan or whatever - and I dont even understand how to access it. I tried!

Personally I think there's several contributors as to why there seems to be mixed info on the topic of suicide. Since in many modern cultures suicide is a taboo subject, people try to ignore it out of fear or prevent it all the time, which at best can lead to false info and at worst completely fabricated stories. Also, there are people who may make a suicide attempt, but don't put much if any effort into it (reasons can range from fear to a cry for help) which leads to failed attempts. These failed attempts due to low effort might effect some scientific papers on the lethality of certain methods. Then there's also the fact that biologically, human life fights to survive at all costs. This is probably why you've heard about people backing out last second from random adrenaline rushes or how the exit bag method has failed when the person rips off the bag during their unconscious state.

I found the "method megathreads" and the SuiWiki on this site here immensely helpful ! After two failed ctb attempts in my youth when there was not even internet around to share information, it was immensely difficult to find any useful information at all ! So I ended up swallowing medication which I now know cannot kill you even how much you OD on it....and failed my partial hanging because of post-falling-unconscious convulsions, which I also had never heard about until I read about it here...I find that it's right to deploy the correct info on methods and share your stories (which are usually stories of failure - if you succeeded you're no longer here to tell us about it !) so we can learn how to do it right. IF YOU WANT TO CTB you have to get it right ! That way, people will think before doing stupid things as a "cry for help" which can have them end up seriously damaged physically and mentally ! You should KNOW that if you have the correct information and have chosen and rehearsed your method consistently, you WILL succeed ! That way, you really know that if you go ahead with it, there is no way back ! And I think this has helped a few people to reconsider, maybe wait a bit more until they are fully certain, and I'm sure it has prevented some serious injuries to those who were just "gambling with death"!

That site left me with more questions, and in researching the methods mentioned there I came across a link to this site. Now I have two methods fully planned. :)

I used to be able to find a lot of stuff before. I have been browsing the internet for suicide methods for over 15 years. I moved into this current house 15 years ago, and that's when the internet was really starting to burst with information (especially around 2008), my most active days on the suicidal websites were between 2012 to 2016ish. I remember there was an alt.suicide group on google groups, there was a group previously from that name on another website way back in the early 2000s, I was a bit young then to know about it. I remember lostallhope (thanks for sharing that I completely forgot), and there was this other website, it might have been suicideforum, I'm not sure honestly, but the whole website was in dark mode, it was like dark purple or black, and there would be a box with a post from a random person, and then you'd click "next" to see the next one and so on, and you could write your own. I really loved going there when I was truly depressed, the dark mode of the website made me feel better.

I agree with Fredman, I don't believe there is any suicide method that is 100% guaranteed. It is always a gamble - that is totally true. Even bridge jumping, people have survived that. I bet people have survived train jumping as well, such horrific methods I can't even imagine doing that, my brain is too over analytical to go through with it, I'd be thinking of each detail and what exactly will happen to me lol.
