Hello, so I have all the parts I need for the exit bag. I have the oxygen tubing that goes onto the outlet barb of the regulator and I see that as I weakest point of the set up in terms of what might fail. Does anyone know if I can use duct tape to really secure the oxygen tubing to the barb? I want to make sure nothing comes off if I move or convulse. Thanks!

I was advised to get hose clamps, because no tape would be reliable enough.

My tubing looks like this though, with the bulky part on the end which is what fits into the barb.

Yeah you just get a clamp that you can fit over the bulky part that's over the barb, then tighten it down. I also used an oxygen tube, and my barb is shaped like

v

v

if that makes any sense, I just got the thickest part of my oxygen tube past the first V, then used a clamp under the thickest part to get it 'stuck' above the V.

Sorry I don't really understand what you mean 😞 I can't visualise how you positioned your clamp.

Hey would you be able to pm me a photo of how you did the clamp? :)

You see the thick head of the tube? The A line is where it stops. I place my clamp under that, and the clamp cannot go that way.

Then on my regulator barb there a small notch (if you can see it) and I push the tube up far enough so that I can tighten the clamp down past that notch.

I would put it together but it requires some energy to get the tube on the barb in the first place, which I don't have right now (maybe later in the middle of the night when I get my energy bursts lol) and then getting it off the barb again afterwards. Go pick up some clamps, cut off the thick part of the tube that goes into your bag so you can slide the clamp to the barb side, and I think it will start to make sense.

Btw, are you going to test your gas? Like with the oxygen detector? I don't have the time or money for that :(

(just make sure you don't get hose clamps that are too small to fit)

And no, if I for some reason go back to exit bag I'm not gonna bother doing that, I can buy cylinders from industrial vendors here and if they aren't selling the stuff they say they are they would be in deep shit.

This is what I think too. I bought mine from a gas supplier for hospitality and welding so I think it must be what they say it is!

She's making a hole for the elastic to go through. I bought the [removed due to sourcing] regulator and I'm not happy with it. I will write about it in the exit bag megathread.

I am so confused about this. We we need tubing that flares at the end how yours does? I'm pics I've only seen tubing there it's a rube and no flare. I heard to look for a certain size but I am not sure. I am so confused.

I just got the first oxygen tube I saw on amazon, I was told on this forum any tube would do.

Isn't it 1/4 size? Surely it makes a difference if there is a flare or not?
IDK what 1/4 is, and with flare do you mean the thick end? I don't know, even without a flare you could probably clamp it down hard enough with a hose clamp. If you are able to get all the required items you can just try it out to get your answers, I don't have a gas tank (or anything I could substitute it with) to try, yet.

One vs the other, flare vs so flare. Surely one is better than the other?? And do I connect it directly to the regulator??

I don't know if a flared one is better or not. The oxygen tube (flared) that you're showing does state "crush and kink resistant" so maybe it is better for our use.
