Can this method be accomplished with camping protane/butane gaz instead of helium or nitrogen?

Short answer, no. The nature of inert gas is that it pushes out oxygen and creates a "happy hypoxia", as some call it. The gases you mention have a very different effect and will be far less peaceful.

Let me just say that Inert gas does not push out oxygen, you breathe out oxygen, and when you do since you have lighter gasses the oxygen will sink out the bottom of the bag.

However the problem would be with those camping gasses is first off they are EXPLOSIVE

Secondly they are heavier than air, which could work if you are trying to CTB, but you would need a completely new method to use heavier than air gasses.

Also side tangent nitrogen is not an inert gas, stop calling it that. Inert gasses are He, Ne, Ar, etc.

The process of oxygen sinking out the bottom is exactly what I meant by pushing it out. Perhaps not the right word though. Thanks for elaborating.

It is and it isn't. Depends really on where it's used or discussed. Commercially, in Biology and other fields, we classify nitrogen as an inert gas. :) it's not a noble gas but inertness is definitely one of its characteristics. So yeah, the term inert gas is context-dependent because several of the "inert gases", including nitrogen and carbon dioxide, can be made to react under certain conditions.

In this context, Nitrogen is inert when inside the body. ;)

Man screw bio, nitrogen reacts in the atmosphere right now its just that K value (of some nitro-oxide i can't remember) is so low we don't see it like also nitrogen is very electronegative and it likes to interact therefore nitrogen is not inert.

I am not mad at all i am very sane, I am so much smarter than you, u are bad at chemistry /j

Heyyy disrespect to bio will not be tolerated! :hmph:

jk, i'm just biased bc i took bio for grad school (spare me some dignity) lol

PS, love reading your comments, you're a nerd :blarg: (in a constructive manner)
