Can somebody please tell me how to seal needle holes in the rubber stopper of one of my N bottles? The metal seal is totally intact, but the center plastic top is off. I only used about 10-12ml all together, but poked it a few times. I'm terrified of it degrading too quickly😱.

I tried to use it for sleep a few times last week. I drew a bit out with a syringe, and with my lousy vision, even after using a marker, I have no clue how many holes there are in the one little spot or if there's a bigger one with a couple tiny ones next to it.

I had planned to ctb, but ended up leaving the hotel because of SI and just feeling extremely uncomfortable. Chronic insomnia is one of the reasons I'm going to ctb. I hated myself for not going through with it and having to suffer more sleepless nights with screaming tinnitus.

I know now that I can't plan to ctb, and that it'll just happen at home during one of many nights of desperation. Thankfully I live alone, have a friend on board to alert, and a wonderful place for my cat to go.

THANK YOU!!💛

I doubt you can do anything about the holes but put it in another container. Although I though that rubber was supposed to be self-sealing; are you sure it has holes that could leak?

Did you take care to put in as many cc's of air as you took out of N, and no more than that? Putting in too much air might cause it to leak.

Drawing Medicine Out Of A Vial <--check out the instructions for removing medication from a vial with a syringe, including the bit about wiping the rubber stopper clean with alcohol before you puncture it again.

. . . or perhaps I misunderstood you? Is the soft, puncturable center of the top entirely gone, like you could stick a straw straight into it and sip from it? (Not that I'd recommend that, lol)

you can put plastic wrap with an elastic band over it if you're worried. I don't think any air is actually going into the holes you created due to the design of rubber stoppers.

N will last for a long time regardless. Here are some resources on N's stability though to ease your mind:

I forgot to put any air in, dammit! I appreciate the advice, but I'm not going to be drawing anymore out. I just need to seal it. I also was too out of it (always exhausted) to sanitize the needle😩!

Pretty sure the rubber stopper is self healing so you shouldn't worry too much.

You don't need to put air in. It's fine. It's better that you didn't in this case because the air would increase the rate of degradation so don't fret.

Although the abstracts are completely over my head, your suggestion and assurance do ease my anxiety. Thank you!!

I was thinking more that you might need to take air out, since the vial shouldn't be leaking if you've created negative air pressure in there. The problem you'd expect is difficulty drawing more N out, not having it leak through the holes in the top. I can't say for sure, ofc, not ever having seen the thing. Storing it according to manufacturer instructions and then leaving it alone is almost certainly your best course of action, though.
