Yeah I literally get a sinking feeling in my chest, it's the emotional side of my depression. The other half is anhedonia, the inability to enjoy things

yeah, I guess thats what youd call this feeling
sometimes its an emptiness but mostly its an overabundance that I dont feel like I can control very well

I either cant get myself to cry or I cant get myself to stop
so maybe its more like half a heart if anything

Hi sweet @tricky @jodes2 @SectOfValtiel

I understand what you describe by "having a heavy heart" and I am sorry to see that you suffer from it ❤😊

I assume you are referring to the almost physical weight we can feel when we are at our wits end, devastated, deeply shaken

The funny thing about emotions is how sometimes what appears masks a much more complex reality

Very often, when we feel absolutely nothing, it is because behind this "emptiness" hides a torrent of negative emotions, pain, sadness, but which can reach an extreme intensity

Well-being seems to work a bit like plumbing. You have channels, pipes that let out water that is either clear (positive emotions) or cloudy (negative emotions).

The problem with cloudy water is that it contains impurities. After a while, a curd forms and the cloudy water flows less and less until nothing comes out of the channels.

It is at this point that the emptiness appears, the feeling of inner nothingness, of heaviness, that one falls into the void, into a precipice.

But if we touch this curd, we find ourselves facing a torrent of emotions, of suffering

I understand you and I'm sorry you are going through such things 😊

But in a way, going through such things is what makes you so caring and more able to relate to others in pain!

Take the time to purify that water, because emptying your heart is what makes it less heavy

You are brave, I hope things work out for you 😊

Love 😊

This thread is quite vague. What a 'heavy heart' could mean could differ between people. But I do always experience a feeling of dread as soon as I wake up and I never feel relaxed or content at all when I'm awake, there is always this feeling of uneasiness there, and I constantly wish to be free from this life. I see existence as being a burden and I'm tired of it all. The truth is that in this life there is no real relief from suffering. Existing is both pointless and painful and I'm tired of feeling trapped in this life day after day.

Sometimes a real heavy heart, sometimes a real nice numbness, sometimes immense joy thinking it'll be over soon enough. The emptiness when I feel it does weigh a ton, as if it's a physical load on you. A vacuum in your chest and skull.
