Most people on here will probably hate this answer but I was similar a few nights ago. Did everything I could think of to avoid but still huge urge to cut. Ended up contacting a texting helpline (SHOUT, I'm in the UK) and we talked on there until I calmed down enough for the urge to pass. I chose SHOUT as opposed to Samaritans because I know SHOUT will call the police if they can't calm you down whereas Samaritans will allow you to go as far as ctb without calling police. So calling SHOUT adds the fear factor as a deterrent.
