This is the article from 2017:
There's mention that death row execution will be carried out by injection of a cocktail made of fentanyl, diazepam (Valium), and cisatracurium (a muscle relaxant that causes paralysis). Then it goes on to question the necessity of other the drugs besides fent since fent itself is supposed to be very potent. However, if it is potent, why does it mention that a "massive ongoing dose" is necessary, otherwise the prisoner may wake up? Here's the excerpt from the article:
How big of a dose are we looking at here? This contradicts what I've heard before about fentanyl, where they believed that only a small dose is sufficient to cause death. Any ideas?
Nevada Plans to Use Fentanyl in Upcoming Execution
