Greetings, Sasu. 😸

I have been taking up meditation very seriously recently and curious on how it is for users who have been doing it for years? I'm very curious!

Personally, I wouldn't exactly say it has 'improved' my mental health in the sense of how much I dislike life itself, but it has certainly given me mental clarity and much more time awareness, if that makes sense?

I register much more of the world around me, from the food I taste to how I see. In a literal sense, everything seems more 'vibrant', though visually it peaks right after meditation and dims to a more stable state. My mind doesn't drift into despair as often, and I feel more comfortable within my own skin; even as I wallow in sorrow, my thoughts doesn't just scatter around as much, but rather I feel more 'tapped into' my own thoughts. 😼

It does leave me with slight migraines though. I wouldn't be surprised if some of what I experienced is placebo as I am still very new and it isn't helping my views on life, but it helps with keeping up with my obligations and not rot away in self-pity.

I must admit I do not have years of meditation experience. However I do go trough phases where I use it frequently. I find it very helpful but like many other things it requires consistency and dedication to see any real results. However when I have stuck with it for weeks at a time I do notice my anxiety is less. But the biggest change is that I sleep better. Like drastically better. I think part of it is that when I did meditate it was right before bed so it also reduced screen time before I fell asleep. All those thoughts that would normally consume my mind for sometimes hours before I finally fell asleep were gone. It made my mind a much more peaceful place. If I had any will power or real desire to stay in a healthy place I would continue it or do it more frequently. I hope one day I will. I also think it helps build mental strength and resilience to every day issues.
