Can it tone down my extreme sad emotions and extreme anxious thoughts when interacting with people? I could use something to derealize a bit because I feel overwhelmed with thoughts of the cruelty of this world.

Yes. And not really... had the nastiest side effects with amitriptyline (severe insomnia and weight gains)
